New research center focuses on Xi's ecological thought

China has established a research center for President Xi Jinping's thinking on ecological civilization as the nation ramps up efforts to better implement his vision on environmental protection and ecological conservation.
Inaugurated on Wednesday in the Ministry of Ecology and Environment office in Beijing, the center is tasked with systematical research on not only theories of Xi's thought, but also its practice, according to a media release from the ministry.
Ecological civilization is a concept promoted by Xi, who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, for balanced and sustainable development that features harmonious coexistence between mankind and nature.
The center will "summarize achievement and experiences in different regions of China as they put Xi Jinping Thought on Ecological Civilization into practice", it said, adding it will also devote efforts to promoting the exchange of these experiences in a timely manner.
As part of the center's efforts to explore effective approaches to improve the international community's understanding of Xi's thought in the sector, more studies will be conducted, the release said.
