County-level secretaries honored as role models
Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, met in Beijing on Tuesday with county-level Party secretaries who were recognized as role models ahead of the centenary of the CPC's founding.
Xi, who is also China's president and chairman of the Central Military Commission, extended his sincere greetings and warm congratulations to those who were honored for their outstanding work. He chatted with the secretaries and had a photo taken with them.
A meeting was held on Tuesday afternoon to honor the 103 county-level Party secretaries from around the country, many of whom made outstanding contributions in the battle to eliminate absolute poverty.
Speaking at the meeting, Chen Xi, head of the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, called on the Party officials to learn from the role models, be loyal to the Party, serve the people and carry on their fine work to make new and greater contributions to realizing the Chinese dream of national rejuvenation.
