Nanjing Chinese Orchestra marks CPC's anniversary with concert

Under the baton of conductor Zhang Lie, Nanjing Chinese Orchestra staged its orchestral work, Liberation: 1949, on June 24 at the National Center for the Performing Arts to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China.

Famous Chinese musician Zhao Jiping served as the artistic director of the music piece.

Composed by Zhang Wei, the music piece, with eight chapters, follows the history of Nanjing's liberation on April 23, 1949.

Musicians of China National Opera &Dance Drama Theater also performed during the concert.
