With hundreds of small islands and crystal clear water, Fairy Lake got its name from a legendary love story about a fairy and a young man. The story was recorded in The Anecdotes about Spirits and Immortals, a mystery story series created by Gan Bao in the Eastern Jin Dynasty (317-420).

Located in Xinyu, East China's Jiangxi province, the Fairy Lake Scenic Spot is a national 4A scenic spot and has been dubbed the "most beautiful lake scenic area in China".

In this video, China Daily's foreign reporter Matt Bossons visits Fairy Lake to explore this enchanting place and its romantic folklore.
