Vaccine factory goes up fast; large volume expected

A new factory producing COVID-19 vaccines started up in Wuhan, Hubei province, on Monday after 86 days of construction, the builder said.
It is the second phase of vaccine production affiliated with the Wuhan Institute of Biological Productions Co of Sinopharm, a State-owned pharmaceutical company. It has a designed annual production capacity of 1 billion doses, according to a statement by China Construction Third Engineering Bureau Group, the second phase builder.
The new factory is expected to produce 600 million vaccine doses for COVID-19 by the end of this year.
