A regulation on promoting, conserving and utilizing resources related to the Communist Party of China in Shanghai will take effect on July 1, the municipal authority announced on Saturday.

According to Pan Min, deputy minister of publicity department of the CPC Shanghai Committee, the regulation stipulates researchers of Party history should reinforce basic research on historical resources in the city, which will provide academic support for exploring historical heritage in the city, enhancing interpretation at memorials of revolutionary sites, and for developing creative products and tourism.

Based on the regulation, the city pledged to establish a list of local historical resources with critical value, educational and commemorative significance to enhance resource conservation.

More than 612 cultural sites related to the Party have been established across the city through research last year, ranging from memorials of historical sites to former residences of leading members and martyrs' cemeteries.

In addition, the regulation clarifies the responsibilities of departments and institutions in promoting, conserving and utilizing resources.

The committee will also strengthen ties with organizations, such as Shanghai Society of CPC History and Shanghai New Fourth Army History Research Association, to organize seminars and research activities.

Furthermore, the team of experts in the Party's history will be enlarged to gather professionals in the field.
