As a tribute to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of Communist Party of China, the 24th Shanghai International Film Festival will set a special sector to take a retrospective of China's rise over the past century.

With the theme "the red light and shadow will look back over the journey of the past 100 years", the sector will screen a number of critically acclaimed domestic films during the festival, which will be held between June 11 and 20.

As a practice to ensure the safety and implementation of COVID-19 preventive measures, the festival will be held in person and remotely, with its master class activities primarily streamed online to connect domestic audience members and foreign masters.
