China has made an extraordinary step in dealing with climate change, said Fang Li, chief representative of World Resources Institute Beijing Representative Office.

One of the considerable progress is non-CO2 greenhouse gas emission control. WRI's research indicates that China may mitigate 1.5 to 3 billion tons of carbon dioxide equivalent cumulative emissions between 2020 and 2030. Tightening regulations over non-CO2 could benefit both public health and ozone layer protection.

Besides, WRI and China can conduct more cooperation in projects such as the China-proposed green Belt and Road Initiative and WRI's Traffic Light investment category research.
