A branch of Japanese barbecue restaurant Nichiban Yakiniku opened in Beijing in April, bringing authentic Japanese flavors to foodies in the capital.

Located in the Liangmaqiao area, the restaurant uses traditional Japanese wooden décor, with full walls of Japanese cartoons.

The signature dishes are their ox intestines, ox thoracic diaphragm and one-centimeter-thick ox tongue, which are all juicy and have their own special flavors.

The "chicken oyster" is also a must-try, as the meat is cut from the chicken thigh to look like an oyster. Each chicken can only provide one or two pieces for the dish.

For dessert, sake jelly with milk ice cream makes for a perfect finish.
