"This is a scene showing Zhong Kui (a god for warding off disease in Chinese mythology) marrying off his younger sister; this is a lover's ornament used in traditional Kazakh costumes; this is called ancient skiing…," describes Arshin, a clay sculpture craftsman who has been running a cultural and creative shop in Wubaili Style Street of Altay city, Ili Kazak autonomous prefecture, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
The array of clay sculptures he is introducing all encompass Arshin's deep passion for his hometown.
He hopes to display the local folk customs of Altay through his works, to attract more and more tourists to visit and appreciate Xinjiang.
