Inui Hiroshi, the general manager of Daikin Air Conditioning (Shanghai) Co. Ltd, was recently featured in a video in which he talked about his passion for pursuing the spirit of craftsmanship.

The video is part of the "Shanghai Through Our Eyes" video series, which comprises 100 short videos produced by Xinmin Evening News to mark the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China this year. The Information Office of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government launched the series last Thursday.

In the video, the Japanese, who has been living in Shanghai for 15 years, spoke about how the manufacturing industry in Shanghai is undergoing a challenging period when labor costs are soaring and the space for manufacturing is decreasing. These factors have made the pursuit of craftsmanship even harder than before.

He pointed out that Shanghai is a dynamic city that provides the most liberal marketing environment in China, and that its willingness to absorb new things makes it a place filled with opportunities and potentialities.

Hiroshi believes that under the good governance of the Chinese government and the Communist Party of China, the country would be able to make full use of technologies to promote its future development and enhance its international competitiveness.

The Japanese also shared his thoughts about Shanghai's astonishing transformation over the years, saying that an "increasing number of shopping malls and residential buildings are popping up in the city, and life is becoming more convenient".
