Foshan police mark road clearly for fair enforcement

The Foshan traffic police in Guangdong province have improved a section of a busy freeway in the Pearl River Delta city after receiving complaints about an unreasonable design.
According to a statement released by the police on Tuesday, dotted lines have been added to guide vehicles, along with an alternative lane and clear traffic signs.
The police made the improvement after a large number of drivers were fined for violating traffic rules on the road section in recent months. They said a total of 184,373 drivers had been found by electronic monitoring — most of whom were said to have violated traffic rules by illegally changing lanes — last year between March 18, 2020 and April 1.
The police denied online rumors that more than 624,000 drivers had been fined.
Foshan is about 20 kilometers from Guangzhou.
