Thermal power plant blast in Anhui kills 6

Six people died in an explosion at a thermal power plant in Dingyuan county, Anhui province, on Wednesday morning, according to local emergency management authorities.
The six people, workers at a Shanghai-based environmental protection company, were welding a leaking tank when the blast occurred at about 10 am, according to the Anhui provincial emergency management bureau.
The workers fell to the ground from the top of the tank, which was about 5 meters high. One of them died at the scene, while the other five died later at the hospital, the bureau said.
Provincial authorities have arrived at the site to deal with the incident.
