Region, embassy in Malaysia hold webinar
The Xinjiang regional government and China's embassy in Malaysia on Friday held an online event via video link. During the webinar, Shohrat Zakir, chairman of the Xinjiang regional government, made a keynote speech welcoming more people to visit the region to see the true Xinjiang. Representatives from Xinjiang introduced local developments in the economy, poverty alleviation and people's living standards. They also defended China's policy and debunked ungrounded accusations such as "forced labor" and "genocide" in Xinjiang.

Red Notice fugitive surrenders after 15 yrs
Cai Ying, one of China's most wanted graft fugitives, has returned to China and turned herself in 15 years after she fled overseas, an official source said on Friday. Cai, formerly head of a district housing authority in Fuzhou city, Fujian province, fled overseas in March 2006, according to an office dealing with fugitive repatriation and asset recovery under the central anti-corruption coordination group.
