China wins 8 awards at int'l youth competition in Bulgaria
SOFIA -- China won eight awards at an international youth competition for drawing and photography, which was held in Bulgaria's Danube city of Ruse, officials said Wednesday.
According to a press release from the Ruse Municipality, two schools from China's Hong Kong -- School of Creativity Hong Kong and Chong Hok Tong Education Centre -- have participated in the competition dedicated to the World Water Day with a total of 76 "high-level drawings," and won special awards for active participation.
Meanwhile, three Chinese participants have won special individual awards from the Municipal Youth Center in Ruse, and another three received special awards from the local water supply and sewerage company, according to the press release.
A total of 543 drawings from Bulgaria and China, as well as 174 photos from nine countries including Italy, Philippines and Austria, participated in the competition, which was organized for the 14th consecutive year by the Municipal Youth Center in the fifth largest city in Bulgaria.
