Xi calls for advancements in healthcare and education

Xi mentioned the development of traditional Chinese medicine. He called for efforts to summarize and evaluate TCM's role in treating COVID-19 and to scientifically explain how effective it is at treating the disease.

He called for intensive efforts to solve problems with core technologies in key fields and to further develop technologies that still constrain the country's development in the areas of medicine, medical equipment and vaccines.

Speaking of the educational reforms, Xi stressed the need to comprehensively uphold the Party's guidelines on education, stick to developing socialist education and emphasize building a high-quality and balanced basic public education system.

He said education should be strengthened to serve innovative development. He called for cultivating more talented people who are highly competent to advance the country's quality growth.
