Former Olympian drafts proposal for CPPCC session

As a former Olympic champion skater, CPPCC National Committee member Yang Yang has a vision to help grow sports participation into a lifestyle choice among the wider public in China. She is also confident in popularizing winter sports in China, especially as the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games approach.

Yang, who now chairs Beijing 2022's athlete commission, has worked on a proposal for this year's two sessions to call for greater support for a program that helps retired athletes find re-employment in the mass sports sector to provide fitness services, training expertise and facility management for the public to enjoy sports safely under professional guidance.
