Beijing will soon begin mass vaccinations against the coronavirus for people over 60 years old, following advice from national authorities, the Beijing Center for Disease Prevention and Control said on Tuesday.
Some seniors aged 60 and above in the capital have already been inoculated, it said. Older residents who are being vaccinated are mainly those in good physical condition.
Based on the research and development of the vaccine and follow-up clinical trials, Beijing will start coronavirus vaccinations for citizens under the age of 18 in the next step, in accordance with State requirements, the center said.
