Azerbaijani, Armenian leaders congratulate Irakli Garibashvili on confirmation as PM

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Ali Asadov as well as Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pasinyan, have congratulated Irakli Garibashvili on his recent confirmation as Georgia’s new prime minister. 

Noting that the two countries share strong historic ties,  Azerbaijani President has pledged to deepen 'fruitful cooperation' and 'strategic partnership' with Georgia.  

Wish you health, happiness and success… for the benefit of friendly Georgian people”, PM’s press office has cited Aliyev.

Azerbaijani PM has meanwhile invited Irakli Garibashvili on an official visit to Baku. During a phone conversation the two PMs hoped that ‘historic’ neighbourhood between their countries will further strengthen.

Congratulations his Georgian counterpart Armenian PM has also stressed ‘firm friendly ties’ between Armenia and Georgia. 

I am sure that our governments will continue to cooperate through  implementation of joint programmes to make full use of the potential of Armenia-Georgia cooperation for the benefit of our states”, the letter reads. 

With 89 votes in favour and two against the parliament of Georgia approved Irakli Garibashvili new prime minister late on February 22 following Giorgi Gakharia's resignation.
