As the 2021 Spring Festival is approaching, the National Radio and Television Administration -- the country’s top regulator for the sector -- has arranged all television broadcasters and internet streamers to set special programs in top positions to enrich Chinese people's options for entertainment during the holiday.

Titled "staying put to celebrate Spring Festival", the program is providing a profound array of titles and shows between Feb 11 and 17, with around 20 percent -- newly released or previously just for subscribers -- being offered for free in the weeklong holiday.

Partnering with more than 40 major organizations, from IPTV platforms to websites, the program is scheduled to release nearly 10,000 productions.

Among the sizable lineup, around 4,000 shows and programs are new content, including online series To Be with You and Ping-Pong.

In addition, a string of recently-released blockbuster films such as Eddie Peng-starring The Rescue and Andy Lau-led Shock Wave 2, as well as the Spring Festival galas hosted by local television stations in different cities and provinces, will be shown as part of the program.

Interestingly, some internet television platforms and websites will launch a series of activities to encourage socializing remotely, such as live quiz contests, singing karaoke online and home exercising video contests.
