Chinese navy icebreaker completes survey mission

SHENYANG -- A Chinese navy icebreaker completed the 84th ice-survey mission in the Yellow Sea and the Bohai Sea on Sunday.
During its six-day voyage of 1,020 nautical miles, the icebreaker Haibing (Hull 722) conducted investigations at 28 stations on the seas, collecting 168 sets of hydrological and meteorological data.
The survey will provide a safety guarantee for the naval force's maritime combat training and navigation in winter, and the basis for the work of anti-freezing and ice breaking, disaster reduction and prevention, as well as ice conditions forecast.
