Beijing 2022 Global Culture Tour gets off to running start

The opening ceremony for the Beijing 2022 Global Culture Tour was held at the Exhibition Center for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 on Thursday.

Han Zirong, vice president and secretary general of BOCOG, and Zhang Xu, vice minister of culture and tourism, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches.

Co-hosted by the publicity department of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and the Bureau for External Cultural Relations of China's Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the culture tour aims to deepen communication and cooperation, make good use of external publicity platforms and enhance the global profile of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games.

In his speech, Zhang pointed out the 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games was a great event for the nation. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism will work with the Beijing Organizing Committee, fully mobilize each other's resources as well as overseas China Cultural Centers and tourism offices. Zhang also said the tour will attract more international attention and influence to the Beijing Winter Olympics.

Han Zirong introduced the overall preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympics in her speech. According to her, tour will be an innovative method to expand the influence of the Beijing Olympics.

Culture tour-based activities will connect overseas China Cultural Centers and tourism offices to set up online projects. From this January to June of next year, activities will take place in 54 cities among 49 countries around the world, highlighting the latest news and unique spirit of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
