After years of struggle and effort, China has finally fulfilled its generational mission to eliminate absolute poverty. China Daily's foreign reporters Jocelyn Eikenburg and Matt Bossons traveled across the country to discover the stories behind people's efforts to overcome poverty.

In this video, Matt travels to South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region to find out how locals have overcome poverty through three things: river snails, rural homestays and tea. Meanwhile, he also has a chance to enjoy a delicious meal there known as Bai Jia Yan (which roughly translates to "hundred family feast" in English).

Check out the video to discover more of his interesting experiences in Guangxi.
