800 billion invested in Beijing sub-city center
Beijing's sub-city center in Tongzhou district will start construction on a series of new projects with a total investment of 800 billion yuan ($123 billion) during the 14th Five-Year-Plan Period (2021-25), aiming to build a national green development zone and a hub for Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei integrated development.
Zhang Yanlin, deputy head of the capital's development and reform commission, said earlier this week the plan for the development of the capital's sub-city center has been completed and will be released soon.
He also mentioned the center will launch 419 projects in 2021, with 201 projects having an investment scale of more than 100 million yuan.
According to the government authority, the target of the construction of the center is to build a city area without "city diseases" such as traffic jams and environmental pollution.
