1st China-developed hydrogen-powered locomotive gets produced

A hydrogen-powered locomotive rolls off the production line in Datong, Shanxi province, on Jan 27. With a designed speed of 80 kilometers per hour and a continuous power at 700 kilowatts, the locomotive, which is the first of its kind developed by China, is able to operate continuously for 24.5 hours. Its maximum towing load exceeds 5,000 metric tons. [Photo/Xinhua]
