The system can send alerts through various devices including TVs and mobile phones. It can also report the seismic intensity of an earthquake within a minute of its occurrence.

Flight ban between UK, mainland to continue

The suspension of passenger flights between the United Kingdom and the Chinese mainland will continue to be effective from Monday, the Civil Aviation Administration of China said in a news release on Sunday. The administration temporarily suspended regular passenger flights between the UK and the mainland on Dec 28 to help curb the spread of the coronavirus pandemic from Britain. Airlines are required to offer services to passengers regarding ticket refunds and altered flights due to the suspension. The notice did not provide a date when the flights would resume.
