Dalian designates nine communities, one village as medium risk

Nine communities and one village in Dalian Jinpu New Area were classified as medium-risk area, a health official from Dalian, Liaoning province, said at a news conference on Sunday.
According to Zhao Lian, deputy director of Dalian's health commission, the city-wide nucleic acid testing since Dec 22 has completed with nearly 6.38 million residents being tested.
The port city has reported 28 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 24 locally-transmitted asymptomatic infections as of Saturday, since fresh infections emerged on Dec 15.
Zhao said a confirmed COVID-19 patient gave birth to a boy by caesarean section on Saturday night at the quarantine ward in the city's designated hospital.
The infant is in good condition and has been transferred to Dalian women's and children's medical center for further isolation and observation, said Zhao.
