China's economy quickly rebounded in the second and third quarter after a short contraction in the first quarter in 2020, thanks to effective containment measures and strong policy support, said Ding Shuang, chief economist of Greater China and North Asia with Standard Chartered Bank.

In 2021, China may cut budget deficits and cool credit expansion to stabilize the macro leverage ratio, Ding added.
