The Tianjin Machine Tool Museum is one of the largest of its kind. Its collection includes more than 1,000 examples from around the world.

The oldest pieces in the museum are Swiss machine tools for making watches dating to the 1830s.

The museum's founder, 46-year-old Wang Fuxi, a resident of Tianjin's Dongli district, said he has been collecting machine tools for more than 20 years and has spent more than 80 million yuan ($12.3 million) preserving them.

The museum covers 10,000 square meters. Other items in the collection come from domestic and foreign donors.

Wang's father was a machine tool engineer and businessman, and since he was a teenager, he has wanted to follow in his father's footsteps.
