The Mingtian Huacheng residential neighborhood in Zhoupu town, Pudong New Area will be downgraded to a low-risk area on Saturday.

Authorities explained that there have not been any new local COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days.

The neighborhood was categorized as a medium-risk area after two local residents were diagnosed with COVID-19 on Nov 20. The neighborhood was also locked down to curb the spread of the virus.

The municipal government pointed out 6,000 residents who took their third nucleic acid exam tested negative.
