The stamps on display included the first one issued bearing a portrait of Mao Zedong and the first stamp issued by an administration under CPC leadership.
In 1930, administrations in the provinces of Jiangxi and Fujian, both under CPC leadership, issued the first stamps. From then to the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, about 2,400 stamps were issued in more than 70 regions under CPC leadership.
Stamps dating from 1930 to 1950 are historical relics that record the CPC's development and tell how it led the Chinese people to win wars and battles and conquer difficulties, said Ma Junsheng, head of the China Post Bureau.
The exhibition was held at the China National Post and Postage Stamp Museum.
