CPC unveils proposals for formulating 14th five-year plan, long-range goals

BEIJING -- The full text of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee's proposals for mapping out a blueprint for China's development in the next 15 years was made public on Tuesday.

The document, the Party leadership's proposals for formulating the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) for National Economic and Social Development and the Long-Range Objectives Through the Year 2035, was adopted at the fifth plenary session of the 19th CPC Central Committee which closed on Oct 29.

China secures decisive achievements in building moderately prosperous society

China has attained decisive achievements in securing a victory in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, according to the full text of the CPC Central Committee's development proposals.

The proposals highlighted progress made in the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-2020), including stable economic performance, remarkable achievements in the fight against poverty, improving ecological environment as well as expanding opening-up.

Noting that China is about to accomplish the goals and tasks of the 13th Five-Year Plan and "a victory is in sight" for building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, the CPC Central Committee called for concerted efforts to lay a solid foundation for embarking on a journey to fully build a modern socialist China.

China aims to achieve a set of social and economic objectives over the next five years, according to the full text of the Party leadership's development proposals.

China will strive to make new strides in economic development during the period, the proposals said.

With new steps to be taken in reform and opening up, China will further improve its socialist market economy and basically complete the building of a high-standard market system.

China's social etiquette and civility shall be further enhanced, while the core socialist values shall be embraced by the people.

The country aims to make new progress in promoting ecological civilization, improving people's wellbeing, and enhancing governance capacity.
