Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, signed an agreement with China's tech giant Baidu on Oct 23 to build a national-level artificial intelligence industrial internet platform in Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone.

Once established, the platform will form a complete industrial internet ecosystem, help Guizhou build three industrial clusters with 100 billion yuan ($14.92 billion) of revenue each, and accelerate the integration of new infrastructure and industries.

Guiyang has abundant data resources and reliable industrial infrastructure to develop industrial internet. Last year, Guiyang's GDP exceeded 400 billion yuan, with a year-on-year increase of 7.4 percent. The contribution rate of science and technology industries led by big data to economic growth reached 63.3 percent.

Over the next three years, Baidu will attract 26 companies related to big data security, industrial internet and artificial intelligence, help at least two companies list on the stock market, and apply for 50 patents.

Baidu will further improve its layout in Southwest China, oriented in Guiyang, and spread its advanced industrial internet technologies and solutions across China.
