21 Taliban fighters killed in clashes
At least 21 Taliban militants have been killed and 17 wounded during clashes and airstrikes in Afghanistan's southern Uruzgan Province, a provincial government spokesman said on Thursday. No injuries were reported among civilians and members of the security forces during the fighting on Tuesday, the official said. The mountainous Dihrawud district, in the western part of the provincial capital Tirin Kot, has been the scene of heavy clashes in recent weeks as scores of Taliban militants attacked the remote district, trying to take control of the area. More than 100 security personnel and Taliban militants have been killed and many others wounded in clashes in the province in recent weeks.

Seven people were shot and wounded on Wednesday in an apparent drive-by shooting outside a funeral home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the city's mayor said. Acting Police Chief Michael Brunson said all of the injured are expected to survive and were in a stable condition in hospital on Wednesday. The victims, which included women, ranged in age from 20 to 48, Brunson said. He said police were still looking for a suspect and he asked for the public's help in identifying the shooter.
