The 2020 Guangdong 21st Century Maritime Silk Road International Expo will take place in the China Import and Export Fair Complex in Guangzhou from Sept 24 to 26, the organizing committee of the expo announced during a press conference held on Sept 21.

The theme forum of the expo is set to be held on Sept 24 at Guangzhou Baiyun International Convention Center.

Covering an overall area of 60,000 square meters, this year's expo will have two comprehensive exhibition areas for international brands and international cultural tourism, as well as three professional exhibition areas for marine economy, international agricultural products, and international life sciences.

Both the comprehensive exhibition areas are being set up in the expo for the first time.

The exhibition area for international brands will feature around 30 Fortune 500 companies and large transnational companies including Amway, Mars Wrigley, and Hitachi to display their famous products, technologies, and services in areas spanning automobiles, smart manufacturing, new materials, as well as the chemical and light industries.

The area is expected to showcase the appeal of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area for international investment, as well as the power of the Greater Bay Area in scientific innovation and comprehensive economy.

The exhibition area for international cultural tourism will attract delegations from 51 countries and regions, bringing the charm of countries and regions alongside the Belt and Road to visitors, as well as showcasing their distinctive tourism resources.

This year's expo will also include live streaming for the first time, allowing visitors from all over the world to participate in the expo. Tour guides will offer bilingual live streams in both Chinese and English in the exhibition area for international cultural tourism.
