DELIVERY SERVICE
Delivery services for online orders has played an important role in creating jobs and stabilizing unemployment, a report from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security showed. In 2019, around 3.99 million delivery personnel for online orders registered with Meituan Dianping, a major online food delivery and ticketing services platform, up 23.3 percent year-on-year. The number further increased by 457,800 from late January to the end of March this year. Flexible working hours are the biggest drawcard of this profession. Nearly 60 percent of delivery drivers spend less than four hours per day working this job.
FOOD EXPO
The 2020 China International Food and Catering Expo is scheduled to open in Changsha, capital of Hunan province, from Sept 18 to 20, according to the provincial government. Some 2,000 exhibitors, including those from South Korea and African countries, will attend the expo, with specialty foods from around the world to be displayed. Presenters from online platforms such as Taobao, Douyin and Kuaishou will be invited to promote product sales at the expo.

Fairmont Sanya Haitang Bay, which opened on Wednesday, is set to be a new icon of Sanya, a popular tourist destination in Hainan province, for distinguished hospitality experiences, according to its management. Situated along the golden coastline, the first flagship Fairmont Resort in China boasts views toward the divers' paradise of Wuzhizhou Island and Yajia Daling Mountains.
ENVIRONMENTAL EVENT
Jumeirah Himalayas Hotel Shanghai hosted Asia's leading trade fair forum for environmental technology in August. This year marks the 20th anniversary of IE Expo China. This year's forum attracted more than 726 delegates from environment departments and some leading companies. The number of online visitors reached half a million.
