Before the opening of the 2020-2021 concert season, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra and Venue Asia announced a strategic partnership on branding and commercial cooperation.

Intended to reach new audiences and brands with Venue Asia's leading commercial management and consulting services, the collaboration sets out to enable unique opportunities for brand engagement and support for cultural development through a variety of first-class platforms.

"2020 is a special year. Because it is unusual, we have opportunities to try something new, from rehearsing and performing to finding new audiences," said Fedina Zhou Ping, President of Shanghai Symphony Orchestra. "We are glad to work with Venue Asia to work out more opportunities in the future."

"The orchestra celebrated its 140th birthday last year. We just toured the world to show an old Chinese orchestra's high-level performance of classic music. But I want to say Shanghai Symphony Orchestra does not only have a long history and rich heritage, but everlasting creativity and vitality. We hope the cooperation with Venue Asia will bring more energy and an even better future," said Yu Long, music director of SSO.

John Cappo, president of Venue Asia, also expressed happiness and confidence about the collaboration. "We are proud to work with China's preeminent orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and a landmark venue, Shanghai Symphony Concert Hall. The whole team is thrilled to undertake the great challenge and mission to create unique value to reach new target groups."
