In 2015, Yang earned about 50,000 yuan ($7,230), which he said is much more than what he made in his previous jobs. With the flourishing business, he earned about 300,000 yuan last year.

Now Yang and his family have moved from their old house and live in flat of 127 square meters, which he said is cleaner, more convenient and comfortable.

Agricultural development is promising, and organic food will be welcomed by more and more people in the future, he added.

According to the local government, in 2019, the average income of Gangdi villagers reached 45,000 yuan. The apple trees in Taihang Mountain areas cover 3,866 hectares with average production reaching 90 million kilograms, and increased the per capita income of more than 20,000 fruit farmers by over 2,700 yuan.
