High-grade dairy goats from Australia arrive in Jilin

Nearly 2,100 high-quality dairy goats imported from Australia arrive in Nong'an county in Jilin province on Wednesday. They will be quarantined for 45 days. [Photo by Jilin Daily/for chinadaily.com.cn]

The goats include Saanen, Alpine and Toggenburg breeds characterized by early maturity, strong disease resistance, wide adaptability, large milk yield, high nutritional value and a remarkable ability to improve soil. They are expected to aid the development of animal husbandry in China.

These animals will be settled in a breeding base in Shaanxi province in the future, mainly for the improvement and expansion of the dairy goat population and to achieve improved productivity.
