New firms in Shandong village strengthen local employment

In Longzhuang village of Hongxu town in Shandong province, more than 50 small and medium-sized companies -- drawing on local strengths in industries including machinery manufacturing, plastic steel processing, and glass products -- have been established, with the encouragement of local authorities and support from investment.

These firms provide employment for more than 1,500 villagers, with an average monthly salary of about 4,800 yuan ($690).
