ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Conrad Tianjin is rolling out a series of activities to celebrate its first anniversary, which will fall on Aug 20. Its all-day dining restaurant Brasserie on G is offering a barbecue-themed buffet dinner, with a variety of Chinese and Western dishes. CHA, the lobby lounge of the hotel, is launching a tropical fruit-themed afternoon tea, which will enrich the flavor of summer in exquisite style with its design inspired by the anniversary.
RAILWAY TRIPS
In July, a total of 207 million passenger trips were made on trains in China as summer holidays drove up demand, the latest data showed. The figure is 24 percent higher than that of June, according to China State Railway Group. The company has taken a raft of measures, including e-tickets, to increase efficiency during the summer holidays.
FERRY SERVICES
Ferry services in South China's Qiongzhou Strait resumed on Aug 2 after a 40-hour suspension due to Typhoon Sinlaku. Ferry traffic between Hainan and Guangdong provinces was suspended on July 31 as a precaution against gales and torrential downpours. Typhoon Sinlaku swept the coastal waters south of the city of Sanya, Hainan province, before heading to the Beibu Gulf, the National Meteorological Center said.
WELLNESS SOLUTION
Regent Taipei has launched a new wellness concept with Silicon Valley's traditional Chinese medicine and technology pioneer TechTCM. It integrates an artificial intelligence and big data wellness consulting system into the hotel's Wellspring Spa, a four-time World Spa Awards champion. Targeting urban dweller's busy lives and people's post-pandemic health awareness, this new holistic wellness solution addresses all such concerns, the hotel said.
