Chinese mainland reports 3 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

BEIJING - Chinese health authority said on Saturday that it received reports of three new confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland Friday, of which one was domestically transmitted.

The domestically transmitted case was reported in Beijing, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

No deaths related to the disease were reported Friday, according to the commission.

2 new imported COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland reported two new imported COVID-19 cases Friday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 1,925, the commission said.

Of the two imported cases, one was reported in Shanghai and the other in Guangdong Province, it said.

Among all the imported cases, 1,859 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery, and 66 remained hospitalized, with no one in severe condition, the commission said.

No deaths had been reported from the imported cases.

10 COVID-19 patients discharged from hospitals

Ten COVID-19 patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery on the Chinese mainland Friday, the commission said.

There were 402 patients still being treated, including six in severe conditions, it said.

Altogether 78,509 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by Friday, the report said.

As of Friday, a total of 83,545 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 had died of the disease.
