Tsinghua holds forum on innovation education


An online forum on how to upgrade innovation and entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities was held by Tsinghua X-lab, a university-based education platform designed to foster student creativity, from June 20 to 21.
More than 30 educators from over 10 universities, including Tsinghua University, Zhejiang University, Tongji University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Shandong University, gathered in the online meeting room to share their experiences on innovation and entrepreneurship education and put forth a plan to set up a platform promoting industry-university-research cooperation.
During the two-day event, several topics were covered, including how to foster students' creativity, how to combine competitions and academic courses and how to commercialize scientific and technological findings in universities.
Liu Pei, vice-director of the Undergraduate Academic Affairs Office at Tsinghua, said he hopes the online forum will inspire and drive university teachers and students to innovate and make things happen, boost entrepreneurial confidence and create good prospects for innovation and entrepreneurship education and higher education in China.
