US threat of HK-related sanctions won't affect city's economy: Economist

Washington's threat of sanctions, either revoking Hong Kong's tariff privileges or tightening its export controls on Hong Kong, will have "almost no effect" on the city's economy, said leading economist Nicholas Lardy during an interview with China Daily on Monday.
