Beijing tightens measures after 36 new local COVID-19 cases recorded
Beijing reported 36 new domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases and one asymptomatic infection on Saturday, after six cases were reported since Thursday, according to the National Health Commission on Sunday morning.
On Saturday, Beijing held conference on anti-virus steps and the government tightened COVID-19 control measures after newly confirmed cases were reported.
Beijing has closed a major wholesale food and vegetable market and a commodities trading market in order to strengthen control measures to contain the spread of the epidemic.
