Liveliest areas in Shanghai ranked

The Xintiandi business circle was ranked second. The famous tourist area is home to 56 bars and 122 restaurants.

Jiang'an Temple and its surrounding area took third place on the rankings, which also include West Nanjing Road, the Xujiahui neighborhood, the Yu Garden commercial arcade, South Shaanxi Road, Wujiaochang, Tianzifang alleys and Century Avenue in Pudong district.

The ranking is based on factors such as the number of restaurants offering late meals, shopping malls open past 10 pm, bars and pubs, 24-hour convenience stores, KTV and cinemas, as well as traffic in the evening.
