Sanctions threat against HK demonstrates 'double standard,' Lam says

Chief Executive Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor on Tuesday took aim at foreign sanctions against Hong Kong following the country's top legislature's passage of the decision to enact a national security law for the city.

The threat of sanctions demonstrates double standard by the countries and will further harm the interests of people and businesses at a time when global economy is taking a severe beating from the pandemic, she said.
