The China International Import Expo, inaugurated in 2018 in Shanghai, is the first of its kind in the world. The CIIE is designed to trade goods and services, exchange cultures and ideas, welcome visitors from across the globe, benefit the wider world and respond to the aspirations of all people to live a better life.

The second CIIE ran from Nov 5-10, 2019, and attracted more than 3,800 companies from across the world. The total exhibition area exceeded 360,000 square meters. Representatives from 181 countries, regions and international organizations attended last year.

The third CIIE will showcase their advanced technologies and services in six sections: trade in services; automobiles; intelligent industry and information technology; consumer goods; medical equipment and healthcare products; and food and agricultural products.
