Lightning-caused wildfire burns 36,000 acres in US Arizona

LOS ANGELES - A lightning-caused wildfire scorched over 36,000 acres in northwest Arizona, interstate incident information system InciWeb reported Tuesday.
The fire, dubbed Basin Fire, occurred Sunday afternoon in Grand Canyon-Parashant National Monument near the Arizona-Nevada border, 27 km north of the Grand Canyon.
According to the information updated Tuesday morning, the fire had spread to 36,488 acres with only 5 percent contained. A total of 69 personnel are assigned to the fire and so far there has been no casualty.
A red flag warning is in effect for Tuesday. Fire managers are working hard to extinguish the fire as it is burning in critical tortoise habitat, according to InciWeb.
