On May 7, an online forum to discuss cooperation between China and France and global governance after the coronavirus pandemic was held by the Academy of Contemporary China and World Studies and the Bridge Tank of France, during which experts from both countries discussed topics like global efforts to fight the pandemic and changes in global governance.

According to Kong Quan, China's former ambassador to France: "The severity of the pandemic has scarcely been seen in recent years. At this time, China and European countries should enhance communication, cooperate on the basis of mutual trust, jointly rise to the challenge and create a better future."

Joël Ruet, president of Bridge Tank, said: "The pandemic is an examination on the ability of global governance, instead of a comparison between different countries. We want to discuss which actions and modes have been effective in fighting the virus. The influence of the pandemic on the whole world is not very clear now, so we should have more cooperation."

Experts agreed the pandemic will not end globalization, and more effective cooperation will be made between China and France in many areas.
